09/01/2010 trip to Chile
On the day we had a hell of a long haul ahead of us. Off to Chile:) First we went back the same distance Calafate and continue on Route 40 toward Chile. The photo stops were limited this time because we would otherwise probably never arrived. After all, we are well down 8 hours, when we are bent suddenly from the asphalt road to 'n dirt road. A street in this state is known at least in Germany only as a dirt track. Manfred's comment: "That is he, the official way to Chile" * laughs * But, that Chile is actually financially better off than Argentina, the streets were really dam ***. From then on it was at least "Bye, bye, asphalt road; Welcome to the gravel road ". But this one is clear why our Rotel is not a bus, but a truck with four-wheel drive;)

Here we have a couple of gauchos, the drive just a flock of sheep to the estancia.

And a guanaco, which I am sometimes come very close range. They are after all quite shy. But beautiful animals. I like to move the way the are. Looks so beautiful elegantly ^ ^ guanacos are just great: arrived)
at the Argentine border, has our Manfred Passes can be collected and stamped. 5 minutes later at the Chilean border ran from the whole not as loose. Since we all had to antanzen personally with passport in hand. Chileans are generally quite strict in entries from Argentina. Manfred had previously told us that we can not take food with Chile and of course we kept it;) Were we so in it at the counter and were allowed to watch as two Chileans out there in the meantime our Rotel take apart in search of banned import goods. They have found nothing yet: P And I was inside again conveniently calculated next to my 2 "Lieblingsmitreisenden. Subject Ender person who sat on the flight to Calafate next to me together with his wife ... Have all the while avoiding eye contact and talk with me and Betty Erwin to keep me so in peace. But then I was still full of blabbing again. Question: "And you, Kristin go, you go to school in Chemnitz" Since then I could not help but make it clear to both that I am 23 years old, have been working for six years go, for ' s Federal Ministry of Transport have been working and despite my Saxon dialect with Chemnitz did not care, but 'half a year of NEM I moved to Berlin Cologne. Deliberately arrogant: P Then it was me, at least a lot better and have left me alone from then on * lol *
At the border we could also exchange the same money. Wiedermal was extremely stormy here, but Manfred said, this is actually a mild breeze * laugh * He is already there long crawled on all fours, because the wind was too strong. Fortunately we were spared such actions * laughing *

And there we were in the thick of Paine National Park:)

to 19 clock we reached our camp site and have once again drawn the curious glances at us as we were about to build the Rotel: P The campsite was located totally beautiful, right in the Paine National Park with a view on the Paine massif. That evening, however, it was all cloudy. But egaaaaaal. And that evening Mark has once again exceeded itself when it came to his cooking. Spaghetti Bolognese, ^ ^ And the pot was full after eating gefuttert completely empty. As Mark told us this was a new record Rotel * laugh * He has it in his 24-year-old Rotel Karrerie never seen that 19 people total of 3 kg of noodles destroy * laughs * Well, but it was also damn tasty.
has rinse dishes every evening when I questioned Mark, where I live. Did he still listens to me but not that I live in Cologne: P I meant was: "But you can hear exactly where you live!" But good, with the Note some thousands of miles I was * next * laugh he has talked little about his life. He emigrated 20 years ago to Brazil and there is also wife and child. Quite remarkable that he lived for 20 years in Brazil are still so extremely Bavarian talking * laughing * But nevertheless, remarkable man. Speaks English, as it was his mother language (Portuguese, it will probably be the same) and South America knows better than his hand. It was really always cool to chat with him. Even though my mother thought that he had 'a funny kind Yes, he was peculiar little now and then, but who is not?
